3. Vivian Girls - Vivian Girls (In The Red)
OK maybe not strictly 2009, but it got a lot of attention this year. Simple, poppy, short, lo-fi. All good attributes. Their live instrument swap routine is funny. Interested to see what the next LP will sound like.

Mini review 2. Telepathe - Dance Mother (V2/ Co-operative Music)
One that I wish we’d released - an amazing album, up there with the best of recent years. Modern unorthodox audacious pop. A beautiful descendant of ‘Silent Shout’. Crystalline - is that a good word? Hmmm. Whatever, this is ace and you should get it.
